This year the event also saw the final cohort of the former St Bede's Catholic Science College honoured for their successes. Awards were handed out to students from last year's Year 11 as well as current Key Stage Three and Key Stage Four pupils. The big winner of the night was Paige Wright who took home the Madeleine Fox Student of the Year award which is named after, and was presented by, the former Haven High headteacher. Guest  speaker was CfBT Head of Service, (secondary schools standards and performance) Fred Morris. Awards night rounds off a ‘special’ year for Haven High students Haven Down Under Click Here News Archive A REWARD trip for students who have extra lessons in the Learning Support department saw the group visit Donna Nook, North Somercotes to take a look at newly born seal pups. More than 800 pups have been born there this year and students got the chance to see the animals in their real habitat on the coast of Lincolnshire. SEN Administrator Nicola Reeson helped to organise the trip. She said: “All of the students who come to Learning Support work incredibly hard. All of the students were incredibly well behaved and had an amazing time.” IT has been a busy and successful term for the College’s sporting stars across a range of activities. In football, the girls under-13 team continue to progress well in the round-robin stages of the County Cup competition and look set to make the semi finals while in the boys version of the competition there has been some success across all the age ranges.The under-13s were knocked out in the quarter-final by a very strong King’s School Grantham side but there is still hope of some silverware at this level of competition with both the under-14 and under-15 sides set to play their respective quarter finals. In the new year the under-16 side will play in the County Cup semi-final. On an individual front three members of the Year 11 squad have represented Lincolnshire so far this season - Goalkeeper Jack Titchmarsh (pictured); midfielder Ben Swift and striker Karolis Andriulinis. Also at under-14 level goalkeeper Travis Portas and striker Liam Adams have also pulled on the green of the Imp county. This term has also seen the start of the area’s basketball season and so far all boys age group sides are unbeaten and are looking forward to the  second half of the season after Christmas. Earlier in the term the South Lincs Cross Country Championships were held. In the Intermediate Girls race Alex Farr put in a superb performance to finish eighth. Meanwhile, in the Junior Boys race Haven High had three runners in the top 10 finishers. Liam Adams (7th), Cameron Marshall (3rd) and Dominic Goddard (7th) helped their team to a good a final score. In addition this term, a combined year 8 and 9 rugby squad has been assembled by Mr Lasseter. Playing a full 15-man game the team has put in two fine displays in its first two fixtures beating Middlecott 30-5 and Boston Grammar School 20-5
