The boys basketball teams have enjoyed another fine season
with all four age groups finishing among the area’s top sides.
The under-16 team finished its College basketball career off
in fine style when they claimed the combined Boston-
Spalding Area Championship with a 33-10 victory over
Bourne Grammar School. The side won through to this final
having won the Boston Area competition without losing a
single game.
The senior side also competed in the Regional competition
for the first time and faired very well winning one and narrowly
losing the other two against sides from Chesterfield,
Northampton and Corby.
The under-15 side also won the Boston area league without losing a game and will await the
winners of the Spalding league for its combined final. It was a similar scenario at under-14
level wherethe side won through to the combined area final only to lose out to a very strong
George Farmer side from Holbeach.
In their full season of competitive basketball the under-13 boys faired very well. They managed
to win three of their four encounters with a special highlight being an exciting 34-32 victory
over rivals Middlecott School from Kirton.
In the girls sport, the under 14 football team had a successful time at the annual Boston area
five-a-side tournament. The girls performed magnificently to claim the title in a thrilling final.
After the half-term break the football seasons for both girls and boys will re-start with many of
the Haven teams ams in contention for league and cup
titles.
